Remove Mac apps and their leftover files
Updated 2026-09-26
Dragging an app to Trash removes its main bundle, but related data may remain in your Library. Some leftovers preserve valuable settings, while others are disposable, so a complete uninstaller must show context before acting.
Where leftovers live
Common locations include Application Support, Caches, Preferences, Saved Application State, Containers, and LaunchAgents inside your user Library.
Check ownership carefully
A filename resembling an app is not enough. Review bundle identifiers, paths, sizes, and whether another installed app shares the data.
Use reviewed removal
Volumora finds the application bundle and associated artifacts, lets you deselect anything important, and moves approved items to Trash so they remain recoverable.
Frequently asked questions
Will preferences be removed?
Only if you select the preference files shown in the review list.
Why move files to Trash?
Trash provides a recovery window if you later discover that an item was needed.
Do I need Full Disk Access?
It may be required to inspect or remove artifacts in protected locations.
